Last week, I joined fellow enthusiasts at a European exotic car meet organized by Bespoke Car Club and hosted by Mercedes-Benz Downtown Calgary. As the evening sun cast a golden glow across the parking lot at 7pm, an impressive collection of automotive royalty gathered.
The outdoor venue showcased a stunning array of vehicles: Modern Lamborghinis with scissor doors reaching skyward, sleek Ferraris, technologically advanced McLarens, vintage and modern Porsches, and muscular Mercedes-AMG GTs. The sunset provided perfect lighting conditions for photographing these magnificent vehicles while owners laughed about the luck we had that day as it had been raining all morning.
Just as twilight began to settle, a sound unlike any other cut through the evening air. Conversations paused as heads turned toward the entrance, where a silver Porsche Carrera GT made its dramatic entrance. This automotive legend—with its naturally-aspirated V10 howl, carbon fiber construction, and iconic wooden shifter—instantly became the center of attention.
As darkness fell and the meet wrapped up, it was clear that while every car present was special, the Carrera GT's unexpected appearance had created an unforgettable moment—the perfect highlight to an already exceptional evening of automotive passiom shared by the community here in Calgary.
